Day 37 - Paris: Bike Tour and Musée d'Orsay

10:15pm - Paris

Today we started out with a 4 hour private family bike tour around Paris through Bike About Tours.  Our guide, Christian, was really good, friendly and patient.

Our ride covered back streets and cool sites in the Marais, Latin Quarter, the Louvre and surrounding areas.   It was really fun.

After the ride, we went to the Musée d'Orsay.  Being in the know, we made a beeline for the Impressionist galleries on the top floor.  They frown on camera use in the museum, so I don't have much to show.  However, there was a display of the Paris Opera House and a scale model of the neighborhood under a glass floor.  Elodie got really excited about it and started walking the "streets".  I used my phone and took some video of her on the sly.

After we got back, Katie, Charlie and I decided to try this steak and fries place everyone has been raving about, Le Relais de l'Entrecote.  It was fun.  We got there just before 7pm and there was a line, but we got seated right away. It was relaxing to not have any other choices to make besides how well done to cook your meat -- they only have one item on their menu.  They also brought it out fast... from seating until I paid the check was 40 minutes -- unheard of speed in a restaurant in France.  It was a nice change of pace, but not something I'd want for every meal out here.

We skipped dessert at the restaurant and went for gelato in the flower petal arrangement.

We went to bed still debating tomorrow's plans.  It's a mystery, but I'm sure it'll be amazing.
