Day 11 - Sightseeing in Prague

4:35pm - Prague

Today started out slowly.  After feeling a little rushed yesterday, we all seemed like we wanted a lazy, relaxing morning today.  We set out after an early lunch in the apartment to checkout Old Town.

Along the way, we passed the Estates Theatre and bought tickets for all five of us to see Mozart's Requiem on Saturday night.

The theatre was build in the late 1700's and Mozart premiered Don Giovanni there in October 1787.  The Estates is the only theatre left standing where Mozart performed.

It will be interesting to see how long Elodie lasts during the performance.

When we left the theatre box office, we passed a costume photographer... we couldn't resist.  Last time we took a trip like this, we got some old-time western pictures taken near Yellowstone.  We put on the duds and hammed it up like a 18th century well-to-do family out on the town.

After that, we were off to the Old Town Square and the clock tower.

From there, after an ice cream break

It was time to head off to the Charles Bridge

By that time, Elodie's legs were a little tired, so we started heading back to the apartment.  Today was a low-key eat-in kind of day.  Tomorrow, we've hired a guide and we're going to do a tour of the castle.  I'm really enjoying our centrally located flat in Prague.  It sure makes a relaxed approach to visiting this great city possible.
